Motivation:
An Open-Source, Customizable Robotic Hand
The Yeah Hand team’s goal is to build an affordable, high-performance robotic hand for researchers, developers, and enthusiasts. It will be affordable (under 2000 EUR), and open to community contributions and continuous improvement.
It will be produced in 2 versions: robotic and prosthetic.
Robotic Hand Attributes
The team aims to create and share a fully 3D-printable design using affordable materials, commercial off-the-shelf electronics components, custom firmware for precise motor control, and modularity for easy upgrades and customization.
Story:
A Continuation of an Independent Project
Vittorio Lumare originally created a project called the Rebelia (V1), which has been successfully completed and OSHWA certified. However, as he sought to continue the robotic hand’s development, he joined forces with Robert Read and Public Invention to recruit new team members and progress the Hand’s gesture capabilities.
The continuation of this project is upcoming, as Lumare and Robert Read finalize volunteer team members and the project organizes under Public Invention. Check back here for updates on the team and their progress!
