2020 Reports
In 2020, many of our plans were dictated by the pandemic, as Public Invention positioned itself at the center of the open-source response to COVID-19. We received a $20,000 MOSS grant and a $20,000 grant from Protocol Labs, which have mostly gone toward our COVID-19 relief efforts.
2019 Reports
Public Invention was incorporated and granted 501c3 tax-exempt status by the IRS in 2019.
In its founding year, Public Invention received $18,000 in donations primarily from its founder, with support from other Public Inventors and board members. At the end of 2019, we had approximately $6,000.
