Public Outreach Coordinator

Megan Cadena is a recent graduate from The University of Texas at Austin. She studied for a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. She currently works as a volunteer researcher with Public Invention and is currently our Public Outreach Coordinator. She specifically develops and amends mathematical and computational models of complex and real-world systems.
She works on developing the monthly newsletters, managing the Public Invention website, coordinating events with the admin staff/membership/general public, researching grant opportunities, updating the GitHub licensing for each team, and more for our organization.

Volunteer Coordinator

Miriam Castillo has spent most of her career at electronics manufacturing companies managing supply chain. She continues her work as an advisor for business process optimization. She also volunteers in a social program in the city of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico to support young people between 15 and 19 years of age to facilitate them taking initiative in social innovation. Miriam has an MBA from the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac UNIVA.
She works on recruiting volunteers, managing interviews with various project teams, organizing our various projects and volunteers, finding opportunities/resources for our membership, and more.

Technical Writer

Mairin is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in English with a concentration in Economics from the University of Dallas. She was published in the OnStage Magazine and is a regular contributor to her student-run newspaper. Mairin aspires to pursue a career in business and technical writing to fulfill her passion for communicating complex subjects to a wider audience.
A long-time enthusiast of disciplines such as science and technology, Mairin is eager to support Public Invention in its mission to empower inventors and serve humanity through open-source technology. She believes access to information can change the world and make it a better place.
