Social Tetrahedrons

Motivation:

A Visual Representation of the 4th Dimension

This is an interactive 3D simulation for representing Mark Frazier’s conception of the fourth dimension as an “abundance” or “condition,” which may be thought of as power or development. It is represented as a slider in this visual application.

Visualizing Needs and Spirit

The ultimate purpose is to match needs with projects, for instance, to work on technical projects based on an interpretation of Maslow’s Pyramid. People express their desires by placing themselves on a tetrahedron that captures, for instance, the Mind/Body/Spirt and Abundance situation. This might then match them with projects that are suited to them. Exactly how this will be done is still being worked out; this is a step.

Story:

Software Development

This project was a series of rapid prototyping to implement this unique concept of Social Tetrahedrons. The basic idea is to represent 4 dimensions: mind, body and spirit in combination with level in a need hierarchy, for example.

The team began with code used in the 2018 Public Invention Mathathon, and attempted to hack it into something resembling Frazier’s concept.

This is a Three.js, all-browser, serverless implementation. The team may add a durable database later.
